Power Lines and Playgrounds

This photograph titled "Circles" is a good example of how different aspects of composition can create an interesting photo.
The shapes of the playground are very clean cut and it's texture is smooth, which compliments the grainy texture of the sand without being too overwhelming. The repetition of the circles and lines from the playground equipment are very symmetrical and also follows the rule of thirds because of the divide from the middle bar. The focal point of this picture is the circle in the background of the picture, however, it doesn't take away the other interesting points of the photograph. The scattered equipment has an underlying sense of pattern, but is, on the other hand, somewhat unorganized and off-center (hence the rule of thirds). Because the it is cropped so the larger circle in the forefront appears to be what the observer is looking through, it ultimately creates a more intimate and overall moving picture. The ISO I used for this specific photograph was 20. The aperture was 1.7 and the shutter speed was at 1/75. |
